I'm excited to share the news that the Brookwood Futures Group has succeeded in its campaign to retain the site of Brookwood Villa, which will now provide nursery facilities.
The Council proposed to sell it in 2017 after the library was moved into the new town hall. However an intervention from the Lib Dem group led the Council to work with the campaigning community group for more than a year to identify the best use of the buildings.
I congratulate the Brookwood Group on a very positive outcome. It is a pleasure to work with people who have a positive vision and a will to develop facilities for the community, especially for early learning and childcare. This is a great example of how community groups can make a positive difference to their area.
