Asda Bearsden commitment to community recognised – Jo

Jo Swinson MP for East Dunbartonshire presented two Scottish Business in the Community Awards to William Smith of Asda Bearsden last week.

Asda won the Building Stronger Communities Local Impact Award 2013 for its Community Life Initiative as well as the top accolade of Large Company of the Year 2013.

Scottish Business in the Community Awards are the most influential, independent and peer-assessed responsible business awards in the UK.

Commenting Jo said:

“Locally we have seen Asda’s whole-hearted commitment to community engagement thanks to the dedication and hard work of their Community Life Champion in Bearsden William Smith.

“Asda Bearsden’s Community Life Initiative has raised hundreds of pounds to help community groups and individuals in our area and does the same across the UK. It’s no wonder that they were chosen to take home the local impact award.”
