Jo Swinson MP for East Dunbartonshire is asking Torrance residents to get involved in a consultation run by the Post Office on proposed changes to the branch on Main Street.
The Post Office proposals include the possibility of changing the branch to one of the new ‘Local’ models which would offer longer opening hours and a more modern retail environment. The majority of products and services would still be available. Information on the proposals can be found in the branch or online at http://bit.ly/Torrance_PO.
The Post Office would like to hear views on the following:
- Why do you use this Post Office and what do you like about it?
- Do you have any comments about the changes to the branch?
- Do you have any comments about the changes to the opening hours?
- Do you have any comments about the potential closure period during the refurbishment or access to other branches in the area?
The consultation is running until 8 April 2014. Correspondence can be sent by post with ‘FREEPOST – Your Comments’ written on the envelope, via email at firstname.lastname@example.org, telephone at 08457 22 33 44, textphone at 08457 22 33 55 or using an online form at http://bit.ly/Torrance_PO
Commenting, Jo said:
“It’s important that the new service meets local needs since the post office is vital for community life.
“I encourage Torrance residents who may be affected by the proposed changes to take part in the consultation.”
