Local Lib Dem Councillor Vaughan Moody has been leading efforts to see East Dunbartonshire Council’s Contact Centre reduce the length of time callers have to wait in order to speak to someone about their concerns.
Along with fellow Liberal Democrat councillor Gary Pews, Vaughan has been calling on council officials to take measures to cut waiting times for this important service. Following previous objections from customers, East Dunbartonshire extended the target time for calls to be answered from 2 to 3 minutes, but Vaughan says it is time for real change.
“I’m aware of how frustrating it can be when you need to have questions about vital services answered and are left hanging on the phone for too long. That’s why I’m calling on the council to make sure that their Contact Centre is capable of at least having an operator speak to customers within three minutes.”
