		<title>Get involved with politics</title>
		<description><![CDATA[Last weekend was the first East Dunbartonshire Action Weekend of 2010. We achieved a lot &#8211; more than 2000 leaflets delivered, more than 100 doors knocked on, and three new activists joined the delivery team.

Ashay Ghai has won the Bearsden South by-election, taking a seat on the Council from the Tories.
The final vote after redistribution of the Labour and SNP votes was: LD 1770, Con 1499.
