High turnout for “PlaceCheck” shows huge community interest in town centre plans – Jo

On Saturday afternoon Jo Swinson MP for East Dunbartonshire attended the PlaceCheck set up by the Bishopbriggs Community Champions. More than 100 people came along and contributed a range of thoughts, ideas and concerns surrounding the development plans for the town centre, including what they currently like and dislike about the town centre area.

Commenting, Jo said:

“It was good to hear the different opinions from constituents in advance of my meeting with Richard Bakes, Morrsions’ Development Executive on Friday. It will be exciting to see the work of the architects the local champions and town team have employed to take forward the community’s views.

“Last week in Westminster I also took the opportunity to speak to one of the Morrisons Directors at a business event. I left them in no doubt of the strength of feeling of the local community about the Bishopbriggs plans.”
