Jo Swinson local MP for East Dunbartonshire attended a historic gathering where Nobel prize winner and Burmese pro-democracy leader Aung San Suu Kyi became the first Asian citizen, and only the second woman after the Queen, to address both Houses of Parliament.
The newly elected parliamentarian made the address as part of her first visit to Britain in 24 years, telling MPs and peers she was seeking UK support to further democracy in her country.
Commenting Jo said:

"Westminster Hall was buzzing with anticipation to hear the words from this inspiring woman who has fought for so long to bring democracy to her people."
