Local MP Jo Swinson recently visited the Royal Mail sorting office in Bishopbriggs to thank the staff for their efforts over the busy festive period.
Jo was shown around the office by Delivery Manager, Ross Arnott, and was introduced to the staff who are working hard sorting and delivering mail for local people in the run-up to Christmas.
Jo said: “It was great to meet everyone at the Royal Mail’s Bishopbriggs sorting office and see first-hand just how much effort they put into delivering for people at this time of year. I know from my own experience delivering Lib Dem Focus leaflets what it’s like traipsing up and down stairs and paths to letterboxes in the cold and dark days of winter! Our postal workers do such an important job at Christmas and I would like to thank them for all their efforts and for being so welcoming on my visit.”
Ross Arnott, Royal Mail Delivery Manager at Bishopbriggs, commented: “Our postmen and women are working extremely hard to ensure people in Bishopbriggs get their Christmas cards, letters and parcels. We are grateful that Jo Swinson MP visited the office to see our operation and to support the team during our busiest time of year.
“We’d like to remind our customers to post early so that friends and family have longer to enjoy their Christmas greetings.”
