Jo praises students in Parliament film competition


Local MP Jo Swinson welcomed a group of students from Bishopbrigg's Turnbull High School to Westminster on Thursday.

he group were in Parliament after having been shortlisted in a student short video competition run by the Political Studies Association.

The Political Studies Association invited teams of students to submit videos that explore the statement 'What is the media doing to our politics?' Paul Lyons, Eilidh Roy, Shannon Crichton and Kara Conway came to discuss their video with a jury consisting of House of Commons Speaker John Bercow, Doreen Lawrence, and others. Winners will be announced on 4 December.

Commenting Jo said:

"It was a pleasure to meet a group of young people so committed and excited by politics.

"Fingers crossed, hopefully they win on 4 December."
