Jo and Pete Waterman saying yes to high-speed rai
Jo joined campaigners including music mogul Pete Waterman this week to support UK-wide high speed rail.
Having previously spoken in Parliament backing the creation of a high-speed railway network to some of the UK’s major cities, Jo showed her support for the Yes to High Speed Rail campaign this week.
A high-speed rail link would bring benefits to many people in East Dunbartonshire, through job creation, investment and growth, while providing a greener way to travel than by aeroplane.
Commenting, Jo said:
“The planned high-speed rail route will cut journey times between London and Glasgow, boosting East Dunbartonshire’s links to the UK’s major cities.
“High speed rail would ease the pressure on our current routes, and bring jobs and investment to millions – which is vital at a time when the economy is starting to grow again. I would urge local residents to join me in backing this important campaign.”
