Jo Swinson MP for East Dunbartonshire visited Bearsden Primary School for a tour of their new outdoor classroom, which the children helped build.
The outdoor classroom is end result of the centenary playground project, funded thanks to the hard work of parents at the school and a Big Lottery Awards For All Grant. On her visit Jo was shown round the outdoor classroom that also features wa fruit orchard and growing beds.
Commenting Jo said:
"I really enjoyed visiting the school and sharing in the outdoor learning experience.
"There are so many benefits that contact with nature brings, including in terms of education.
"Children of all ages benefit from real life "hands on" experiences where they can see, hear, touch and explore the world around them."
