Jo with Jen McLardy and students of the Scene One theatre arts class
Set up earlier this year by trained local drama professional Jen McLardy, the theatre group teaches 4-16 year olds dance, drama and singing, as well as encouraging self-confidence and social awareness.
Building on the initiative’s growing popularity, Jen hopes to begin teaching adults in the near future, as well as taking the show on the road to perform in the community to care homes, churches and hospitals.
Commenting, Jo said:
“The Scene One Theatre and Arts group is a welcoming and fun class to encourage young performers in East Dunbartonshire to develop their talents. Through Jen’s fantastic approach, local children and young people can be creative, express themselves and build their self-confidence – which is really important as they become adults.
“I would encourage any young people interested in the arts to go along, whether aspiring singers and dancers, or simply wanting to meet new people and have a bit of fun. Contact Jen McLardy on 07527821213 for more details.”
