Local Liberal Democrats are calling on East Dunbartonshire Council to listen to local people about the future of the local greenbelt.
Lib Dem Joint Council Leader Vaughan Moody said,"The Local Plan determines how every piece of land can be used and which land could be built on in future. It is vital to the future of our towns and our surrounding countryside. It affects everyone and I encourage you to have your say."
The Council is required to produce a new Local Development Plan and more than 800 people have already contributed to the first stage of consultation. There will be another consultation later this year before the Proposed Plan is produced in Spring 2020.
Vaughan said, "Much of the concern raised with me is about prioritising infrastructure that gets people to work over building more car-heavy housing estates, about reducing pollution in our town centres, and retaining our greenbelt."
