Local MP Jo Swinson cut the ribbon and some celebratory cake to mark the first anniversary of Bishopbriggs Post Office being under its current ownership.
Mateen Arif took over the Post Office last year and has kept it as an integral part of the community, continuing to provide key services, as well as Sunday opening hours and a more modern retail environment.
Commenting after her visit, Jo said:
“I have always been a strong supporter of the post office in Bishopbriggs, and I remember campaigning to save it back in 2005 when I was first elected as the local MP. So it is great to come back and take part in the celebrations to mark one year since Mateen took over the reins. He continues to provide a first-class service for local residents, who value the excellent job he has done keeping this post office at the heart of the community, as it should be.”
