Our friends at the Stirling and Clackmannanshire Liberal Democrats have asked us to pass along the following invitation to anyone who may be interested:
"You are invited to join me in something ..... a little bit different! An evening of research, discussion and socialising. If you are keen to help the party, but leafleting or talking to the public isn't quite your thing then perhaps this might be where you can help?
Our party has seen an explosion in membership since the referendum; perhaps it is the march of the disenfranchised, flocking to the last banner of decency and hope; or perhaps people just fancy a change; either way it is important that we capitalise on this surge in support. We have a lot of work to do to make ourselves fighting fit to win the next election and now is the time for you to get involved.... and it all starts with a little research (and perhaps a glass of wine).
We are forming a research team of volunteers to help get the local party up to speed on events, news and policy initiatives. This core research team will be vital to support our policy making, campaigning both online and face to face. We need to be up to speed with local issues, national issues that affect our district and international issues that affect us all. We need to be aware of what is going on in our communities and we need to campaign to make positive changes for the people we serve.
All we are asking is that you attend this evening; come with an open mind, a willingness to do a bit of research, give a little thought and share your ideas. With any luck it will be informative and fun. Your ideas could help shape our ideas for campaigns leading to the next elections!
When: Thursday, November 1st 2018, 7pm - 9pm
Where: Strathard Business Hub, (1st floor Above VisitScotland Centre), Aberfoyle, Stirling FK8 3UQ. There's lots of parking behind the VisitScotland Centre. I'm afraid public transport is limited due to an in-frequent bus service.
Contact: James Pass, Email: firstname.lastname@example.org, Mobile: 07464 974210
If you are keen to attend, please rsvp to this email or accept the invitation on our Facebook group as numbers are limited.
Very much looking forward to seeing you there. The Forth Inn is right next door, so we can all pile into the pub afterwards if we feel like it."
