Wheels in motion for local skatepark meeting

Local MP Jo Swinson is holding an informal discussion on the possibility of creating a skatepark in the area on Wednesday 8 August.

The meeting, which will take place at Huntershill Village at 6 pm, comes following Jo's visit to the Bishopbriggs Youth BMX Club. BMX club member Lewis Spence, who is trying to drum up support for a skatepark in the area, presented Jo with a copy of his petition.

Commenting Jo said:

"Lewis and a number of other constituents have voiced their interest in establishing a skate park in Bishopbriggs. So I've decided to get everyone who is interested in the issue together in one room to get the ball rolling.

"It will be an informal discussion with members from the BMX club, ED Cycle Co-op and other interested parties like the team behind the Rebound project in Lennox Forest.

"Anyone who is interested, has ideas or who would like to find out more should RSVP via email swinsonj@parliament.uk or ring my office on 0141 943 1568.

"I look forward to seeing lots of people there."
