Bishopbriggs churches join together for Pentecost

Press release from Bishopbriggs Churches together:

Almost 2000 years ago ordinary people, coming together for the Feast of Pentecost, were suddenly and dramatically inspired and empowered by God. That’s how the church began.

For Pentecost Sunday this year, the Church of Scotland in Bishopbriggs was also ‘together in one place’, as on the 11th of May the three congregations packed Cadder Parish Church for a joint service.

Members of Springfield Cambridge and Kenmure joined with Cadder for not only a special time of worship, but also to mark the growing commitment to find effective ways of working together for the people of Bishopbriggs.

The ministers of all three churches took part in the service, and also present was East Dunbartonshire’s MP, Jo Swinson.

Jo has been a valuable supporter of the churches in the town, and has also taken a keen interest in Cadder’s bid to become an eco-congregation and in their promotion of Fairtrade issues.
