Bishopbriggs Town Centre

Have your say on Town Centre Plans

Jo Swinson MP, Councillor Gary Pews and the local Lib Dem team have launched a survey to ensure local people’s voices are heard in plans to redevelop Bishopbriggs Town Centre.

It's expected that Morrisons will shortly be submitting a planning application to demolish their existing store and construct a new one, to include a petrol station, and there are further plans for housing on the site of the former Bishopbriggs High School.

Jo commented; “I’m glad that there is finally the prospect of this project making real progress, but we shouldn’t underestimate how much this will impact how we use the town centre for years to come.

“I am asking people who live, work and shop in Bishopbriggs to answer questions about how they use the town centre as well as about their thoughts on the plans. It is really important that the experiences of local people are reflected in the developers’ plans. That is why I want as many people as possible to fill in my survey and share the link with any family, friends or neighbours who may be interested.”

Local Councillor Gary Pews added: The derelict site of the former Bishopbriggs High School is a blight on the town centre and I am pleased that progress is finally being made, though of course the plans must be right for local residents, so I hope everyone takes the opportunity to have their say.”
