Call for Action on Anti-social Behaviour

On Guy Fawkes night vandals dragged a caravan into a corner of a carpark at Nithsdale Crescent and set it on fire. This is the latest example of anti-social behaviour in the area. Rosie has now called on the Council to reinstate mobile CCTV cameras.

The report on the feasibility study into proposals to either refurbish or demolish and rebuild the empty maisonette block and its still-occupied neighbour on Nithsdale Crescent is now due by December, which will be followed by public consultation and a final proposal to Council early in 2018.

Rosie said “The derelict flats and delapidated pub, exposed bins and large car parks attract trouble - the Council must do more to keep on top of this area. I met with the head of Housing and senior officers from other services on site in July to ensure that they were aware of all the issues. Local people deserve better, and I have asked the Council to have the area cleaned up.”
