East Dunbartonshire’s Scottish Youth Parliament Members head to Parliament

Jo has met local Members of the Scottish Youth Parliament (MYSPs) in Parliament ahead of the UK Youth Parliament’s annual Commons debate.

(L-R) Michael Low, Ross Greer and Jo Swinson

Jo met MYSPs Ross Greer (Clydebank & Milngavie) and Michael Low (Strathkelvin & Bearsden) for a catch up before they joined hundreds of other youth representatives in the House of Commons chamber to debate the issues of the day.

The event concludes the first ever Parliament Week, celebrating the UK’s democratic system and encouraging people to participate in it.

Commenting, Jo said:

“Ross and Michael are two young people with fantastic drive to make a difference, and it was great to see them as East Dunbartonshire’s youth representatives making the trip down to Westminster for the UKYP debate.

“At the end of this year’s Parliament Week, seeing so many similarly passionate individuals fill the Commons’ green benches was a fitting reminder of the huge contribution young people can make to politics.”
