In Glasgow’s hospitals waiting times over the Christmas period were the worst in Scotland – nearly one in five waited more than 4 hours for treatment. Now East Dunbartonshire MP Jo Swinson wants the SNP to take action and stop deflecting attention from the A&E crisis in Scotland.
The overall Scottish figures showed 88% of patients were seen at A&E units within the target time of four hours – well below the 95% target. In Glasgow, just 82% of patients were seen within four hours.
The figures published by the SNP Government show that performance has actually worsened compared to last year. Official figures from December 2013 show that 93.5 percent of patients were seen within the four hour waiting time.
Jo said:
“After the loss of hundreds of hospital beds, under the SNP’s watch, once again, we can see standards at Glasgow’s hospitals are slipping badly behind.
"When will the SNP Government stop using every opportunity to forward their independence cause and just get on with sorting out the crisis in Scotland's A&E units?"
