Jo Swinson MP is calling on local people to give their views on planned changes to Lenzie Post Office which aim to keep the service in the heart of the community.
Lenzie Post Office has been subject to a number of proposed changes in the last year. There are now plans to move the Post Office 20 metres down the road into the Day-Today Express newsagents; a modernised branch with longer opening hours. Jo is calling on local people to give their opinions on these plans so the changes can be scrutinised and important issues like accessibility can be examined.
The public consultation is open until 19th August and can be found at postofficeviews.co.uk (click on “Comment on a proposed branch change” and type in Lenzie).
Commenting, Jo said:
“The situation with Lenzie Post Office has been rather confusing for residents for over a year now, with various plans put forward I know local people want to see this resolved. Lenzie deserves a well-run, modern and accessible post office, which is what these new proposals hope to achieve. I encourage people to have their say on these important changes by 19th August.”
