Jo Swinson MP for East Dunbartonshire is calling on local residents to give feedback on the latest proposed changes to the Lenzie Post Office branch on Kirkintilloch Road.
A new operator has been found to take on the branch in its current location and Post Office Ltd would like the branch to convert to one of their new ‘Local’ models in January 2014 which would include changes such as increased hours with the branch open Monday – Saturday from 8:00 – 18:00.
The current Post Office Ltd public engagement process follows their decision not to go ahead with the proposed relocation of the branch to the Scotmid Co-op on Gallowhill Road.
The Post Office would like to hear views on the following:
- Why do you use the Post Office and what do you like about it?
- Do you have any comments about the changes to the branch?
- Do you have any comments about any changes to the opening hours?
- Do you have any comments about the potential closure period during refurbishment or access to other branches in the area?
The Post Office is accepting comments until 31 December 2013. Correspondence can be sent by post with ‘FREEPOST – Your Comments’ written on the envelope, via email at [email protected] or using an online form atwww.postofficeviews.co.uk and entering the code for the branch 21385599.
Commenting, Jo said:
“There were over 400 responses to the consultation and the overwhelming majority were for the Post Office to stay where it was – in the heart of Lenzie.
“I am delighted that Post Office Ltd has listened to the views of my constituents and has used the findings to find a more suitable solution for Lenzie’s community and the outgoing sub postmaster.
“I encourage any local residents who may have views to send in their comments.”
