Local MP Jo Swinson is taking part in a number of local events to celebrate Parliament Week in East Dunbartonshire. The annual national week to build greater awareness of and engagement with parliamentary democracy in the UK, is organised by the House of Commons and House of Lords and takes place between 15th to 21st November.
East Dunbartonshire Youth are organising a Question Time style event at Bishopbriggs Academy on 14 November from 4-6pm. Jo will sit on a panel made up of local representatives from all the major parties, as well as a former member of the Scottish Youth Parliament for East Dunbartonshire and the Chair of East Dunbartonshire Voluntary Action.
The following night Jo will visit the Bishopbriggs Youth Café for a debate on Scottish Independence from 6-7pm with local councillor Anne McNair from the Scottish National Party.
