Jo Swinson MP for East Dunbartonshire has welcomed the launch of Sainsbury’s Active Kids 2014 voucher scheme. Over the years the support of Sainsbury’s customers and colleagues in East Dunbartonshire has led to over £90,000 worth of Active Kids equipment and experiences being donated to schools and organisations in he area.
As part of the scheme customers are given vouchers which can be donated to nurseries, schools, youth sport groups, and Scout and Guide groups. Since 2005, Sainsbury’s have donated over £136 million worth of equipment and experiences to nearly 52,000 organisations across the UK.
Commenting, Jo said:
“I would like to encourage as many organisations as possible in East Dunbartonshire to register to receive vouchers. At the same time I hope everyone who shops at Sainsbury’s starts collecting so that we can help inspire children to lead healthier, more active lifestyles.
“Vouchers are handed out free of charge and are available now until the 20th of May. For more information on how to register your school or group visit activekids.sainsburys-live-well-for-less.co.uk”
