Jo Swinson, local MP for East Dunbartonshire, paid a visit to the newly built Westerton Care Home in Bearsden last Friday.
Jo met with award-winning care home manager Joan Fraser who took her on a tour of the state-of-the-art facilities featuring gardens, a putting green and scenic views.
The home has been open since February, with rooms for 86 residents and will employ more than one hundred staff when fully operational.
Commenting Jo Swinson said:
“It was lovely see around the new Westerton Care Home last week and meet the manager Joan Fraser. Her dedication to the residents and her job is truly inspirational.
“There are a number of homely touches there including a library, a reminiscence room decorated to look like the 1950s, and memory boxes outside each resident’s room.
“It is so important that elderly members of our community receive the best care possible.”
