Jo Swinson supports the community working together to tackle anti-social behaviour
Local MP Jo Swinson attended today’s launch of East Dunbartonshire’s Anti-Social Behaviour Strategy for 2005 – 2008.
Over 100 people representing different community groups attended the launch. The strategy outlines the approaches that will be taken by partners working together, including the Council, Strathclyde Police, Scottish Children’s Reporters Association and Strathclyde Fire & Rescue.
Jo said, “While we should be pleased that East Dunbartonshire is the fifth safest local authority in Scotland, there is no room for complacency. Local residents do still suffer from the problem of anti-social behaviour in its various guises – from vandalism and litter to noise nuisance and speeding cars.”
“This strategy is a good starting point, but obviously what matters most is the action on the ground. I hope the community and agencies will work together to tackle the problem of anti-social behaviour in East Dunbartonshire.”
