Jo was impressed by the success of Lenzie Academy Young Enterprise team, ‘The Evolution’
Jo Swinson MP has welcomed the spirit of endeavour embodied by Enterprise Week 2005.
Running from 14th to 20th November, Enterprise Week encourages creativity and initiative among young people in a range of areas.
Commenting on Enterprise Week 2005, Jo said:
“Enterprise Week is a great way to get people to think creatively, foster a ‘can do’ attitude and inspire budding entrepreneurs. In conjunction with the Scottish Executive’s Enterprise in Education programme, it shows that real efforts are being made to foster an entrepreneurial culture in Scotland, which I welcome.
“Young people in East Dunbartonshire can take inspiration from the success of last year’s Young Enterprise Company at Lenzie Academy, who reached the final of the UK Young Enterprise awards in July. Their idea for a healthy school tuck shop generated a turnover of more than £6000. I really enjoyed meeting the young people involved in the project at the London final, and was highly impressed with what I saw.”
