"It is disappointing that the Unions are planning to take strike action on the Redundancy Framework.
"The Council's proposal moves the framework to a more sensible position which still allows flexibility for changes to staffing but now takes account of value for money on behalf of the taxpayer who pays for it all.
"This is a serious change to a framework that has remained the same since the 1970's. Opportunities to change this scheme were not taken with the result that it is the most generous in Scotland. We are now following other Council's and moving to take account of the many changes in our society that have occurred in the last 40 years."
