London Marathon success for Jo

Jo has completed this year’s London Marathon, and was the first of this year’s four MP runners over the finish line.

After months of training, Jo ran the 26.2 mile course in 3 hours and 57 minutes in Sunday’s sunshine, joining thousands of other runners for charity.

Jo aimed to raise £100 for every mile for Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research, and her fundraising website is still open for donations.

Commenting, Jo said:

“It’s a great feeling to have run the London Marathon. I was delighted to finish within my target time of under four hours, especially given the hot sunny weather which was rather different to my training runs around East Dunbartonshire in February!

“Running on exhausted legs from about 19 miles was a real challenge, but the atmosphere was fantastic and the crowds really gave all the runners a big lift.

The knowledge that I was running for Leukaemia and Lymphoma research to beat blood cancers kept me going – and I’m delighted to have raised over my target of £2,620 already. It’s not too late to donate to this very worthwhile cause –
