Milngavie girls’ fundraising success

Jo has congratulated four local girls for jointly raising enough money to sponsor the education of two children in Swaziland.

Shannon Rogers (16), Laura Graham (15), Louise Noon (15) and Michelle McInnes (15), all from Milngavie, have raised £460 to provide a year’s food and education for two Swazi children.

The four jointly organised a coffee morning and book sale, a sponsored walk and a car boot sale to raise the money.

Jo was there to congratulate them as they presented the cheque to members of the Allander Rotary Club, who organise the scheme, at the Youth Café in Milngavie.

Commenting, Jo said:

“Well done to Shannon, Laura, Louise and Michelle. They all worked really hard to raise this money and should be very proud of themselves. The lives of two young people in Swaziland will be transformed thanks to their efforts.”

Commenting, Laura Graham and Shannon Rogers said:

“We really enjoyed fundraising, particularly as it was to help other young people. We were amazed at what we managed to achieve.”
