Local MP Jo Swinson is delighted that Castlehill Primary School in Bearsden has secured £9,000 of funding from Awards for All.
Awards for All offers grants of between £500 and £10,000 for people to take part in art, sport, heritage and community activities, and projects that promote education, the environment and health in the local community. The scheme is supported by Creative Scotland, sportscotland and the Big Lottery funding.
Castlehill Primary School will use the grant to fund outdoor play equipment for the pupils, including a new sandpit and pond area. They will also be able to offer enhanced science and musical education.
Commenting, Jo said:
“I am delighted that Castlehill Primary School are the recipients of this substantial funding from Awards for All, and I am glad to see the money will be used to increase the opportunities available to the children.
“Young children need an environment where they can express themselves and enjoy a range of activities, this is crucial to their development, and so it is great to see that there will be improved playground facilities and more practical activities for the children at Castlehill Primary School”.
