Jo Swinson MP has encouraged local people to send in their favourite recipes as part of a fundraising scheme for ChildLine.
National supermarket chain SPAR has asked people across the country to upload a recipe and a photo to its online recipe book, in return for a £4 donation to fund counselling services at ChildLine.
With each call from a child in distress or danger costing £4 to answer, ChildLine relies on donations and individual support to provide free, 24-hour over-the-phone advice to help children.
You can submit your recipe online here:

Commenting, Jo said:
“This great fundraising scheme means that East Dunbartonshire residents can share traditional dishes or family classics in just a few clicks in support of ChildLine’s vital work. I’ve just sent in the recipe for my grandpa’s Scottish shortbread, which is a real treat, and I hope many local people will submit the recipes they enjoy cooking – and eating – just as much.
“Around 2000 children call ChildLine every day. By sharing your favourite dish you can make a vital contribution to ensuring that none of these calls go unanswered.”
ChildLine is a branch of the NSPCC, the UK’s leading children’s charity specialising in child protection and the prevention of cruelty to children. More information can be found at www.childline.org.uk
