I've written to NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde about the urgent need for a new Health and Care Centre for Milngavie and Bearsden.

Text of Letter below:

Dear Dr Thomson,

Following my election to the House of Commons I hope you wil agree to meet with me alongside your colleagues from the East Dunbartonshire Health and Social Care Partnership to discuss one of the most important issues raised by my constituents.

My constituents have been waiting many years for a new Health and Care Centre to serve the people of Bearsden and Milngavie. You will be aware there is a severe lack of facilitites which are accessible and provide modern accommodation for both GPs and community allied health professionals as well as a base for the many profressionals so vital to support care and wellbeing in our communities; helping to reduce the cost of the NHS and provide a focus for prevention.

I understand that capital funding is limited but I would ask that you consider the dramatic change in voting patterns in Mid Dunbartonshire driven in part by the belief that they have been waiting too long for facilities like the health and care centre.

I look forward to your reply to arrange a meeting to discuss the next steps for health and care provision in my constituency.

Yours sincerely,

Susan Murray MP
